Our Routes

WHAT IS NEW?

Back to our roots – and forward together

Many of you have been asking for it: the Winterthur Grand Prix will return to its classic running distances in 2026 – half marathon, 10 km, and 5 km.

Last year, we have experimented with new distances to make the event more compact. However, numerous comments made it clear that many runners missed the half marathon as the centerpiece of the Winterthur running event. The 21.1 km simply belong to Winterthur – they are attractive from a sporting point of view, offer a challenge, and allow for comparison over the years.

At the same time, we want to make it easier for new runners to get started. A 5 km run is the ideal starting point to gain running experience and experience the special atmosphere of the event. This distance lowers the entry barrier and is more in line with our club’s goal of making running in Winterthur accessible to as many people as possible.

With the three distances – half marathon, 10 km, and 5 km – we combine tradition, athletic challenge, and accessibility. We look forward to joining you at the starting line and making the Grand Prix Winterthur what it has always been: a run for everyone.
